Firewall

Overview

All inbound and outbound traffic between the school and the internet is filtered by the school firewall. The firewall filters traffic based on:

• Malware detection
• Site reputation and categorization
• School network policies

Eligibility

• Students
• Faculty
• Staff
• Guests

Getting Started

All devices on school networks are automatically protected by the firewall. Faculty, staff, and students may attempt to access a resource that is blocked by the firewall in the course of teaching, research, or completing an activity.

Faculty and Staff

If a required resource is being blocked, please submit a request to IT to investigate the issue.

Students

If a resource is being blocked due to school policy and it is needed for an assignment, ask your teacher to submit an unblock request on your behalf to IT.
